Analysis of factors which helped the survival of the abbaye of St. Marienthal in the Upper Lusatia, namely in the difficult times of confessional division.
The influence of the King of Bohemia, of the Church Administration in Bautzen and of the Bohemian-Moravian-Lusatian Vicariate of Cistercians are analysed one by one. The context of Bohemian (utraquiste) Reformation is discussed, too.
