Treatment of acute painful diabetic neuropathy with alpha lipoic acid in a patientwith LADA diabetes

Abstract
The case report documents a patient with diabetes mellitus, in whom the occurrenceof acute painful diabetic neuropathy resulted in a correct diagnosis of LADA diabetes.The patient was then treated with intensified insulin regimen which was combinedwith alpha lipoic acid and this treatment resulted in a significant improvement of neu-ropathic pain.
