Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament injury (ACL) is one of the most common knee injuries. The treatment of these injuries has developed over a long period of time, including both conservative approaches and various types of surgical solutions.
Currently, the most frequently used surgical solution for these injuries is the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. Reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament is currently not only one of the most frequently performed reconstructive arthroscopic operations, but is one of the most commonly performed orthopedic operations at all.
Own operating technique has undergone historical development and currently offers several possibilities how to perform this operation. The decisive factor for this type of surgery is the development of arthroscopic techniques, which have made these procedures more effective, in terms of diagnosis, accuracy and mini-invasiveness of these procedures.
