Abstract
The study focuses on several key issues related to the topic of Islamic Jihad. It first focuses on the linguistic question and then offers an analysis of the Qur'an text.
It also notes several forms of jihad and Muhammad's approach. In conclusion, the study presents the importance of proper intention (niyya) and, consequently, several rules for the use of jihad of sword.
Finally, it will also briefly focus on the position of religious minorities as targets for contemporary jihadist movements.
