Abstract

Summary: The authors of the paper submit a basic overview on the topic of infection prevention in healthcare facilities. The infections in healthcare facilities signify a medical, nursing, economic and social problem.

In the health care area, the most affected by infections are patients, nurses and doctors and the infections pose a number of questions and problems. The quality prevention of hospital infections is one of the key tasks in the health care.

An important part of patient care is based on education which can significantly help in the progress of care and treatment. Thorough medical and nursing care, education, training and training programs for healthcare professionals can considerably improve infection prevention in healthcare facilities.
