Abstract

Summary: This article deals with the skin disease psoriasis and its impact on the quality of life. The main focus is on the psychological state of the individuals with this disease and on the opportunitieswhich exists to help not just those with the disease but also their families and friends.

The author of the article draws on long-term personal experience with the management of the disease. Through her lectures she tries to familiarize the general and professional audience with the various problems and issues associated with this disease.

It is important to realize that many common tasks and activities which healthy individuals take for granted may cause considerable difficulties for those suffering from psoriasis. Last but not least, the aim of the article is to introduce the project Nurse in Action.

This program is intended for patients with psoriasis, their family members and also general public. It is one of the awareness and support activities for health disadvantage and people with disability of nonprofit organization Revenium.
