Abstract

The subject of this text is the presentation of the Theory of imagination in Emmanuel Levinas and Maurice Blanchot. The primary goal of the article is to elaborate a comparison of their concepts of Imagination and to show, despite the different context in which these authors speak about the Imagination and the Imaginary, their mutual proximity.

Because it is precisely for both of the authors the Work of art which brings us to the Imaginary space in Ecstatic experience, I shall first and foremost ask what is the Work of art and how does it relate to Imagination. Consequently, I shall take up the relation between the object and its Image, and, finally, I shall ask the question about how it is possible to relate to the Imaginary space which is outside of the world.
