Damage to the oral mucosa by targeted (target) oncological treatment and the options of corticotherapy

Abstract

Dexamethasone, as one of the representatives of corticoids, has an important role in the supportive treatment of stomatitis associated with targeted oncological therapy, but it is also important in the prophylaxis of this complication, typically in patients on everolimus. Unification of prescription indications and their standard use in oncological support practice is still an open issue.
