Multiple applications of gadolinium-based contrast agents used in magnetic resonance imaging did not lead to clinical impairment related to gadolinium deposition in the dentate nucleus and globus pallidus. Neurological and neuropsychological testing of four patients did not reveal any aberrant findings beyond those that could be ascribed to each patient's premorbid intellectual capacity, to the location and progression of the primary disease process, and to the therapeutic regimens undertaken.
