Abstract
The chapter Online News was newly prepared exclusively for the third, revised, edition of the collective monograph News in the Media, which has not been published anywhere else. It summarizes the basic specifics of online news and the basic specifics of professional journalism in the creation of online news products.
It also brings a typology of servers providing online news content and also delas with the genre specifics of online news and the professionalism of online news providers.
