This text aims to provide an overview of requiems and their musical adaptation, starting at the beginning of the 20th century up to the present day. A requiem is a constant, which has existed in the musical world for centuries, but the approaches to this composition have been so different, that it is worthy to have a closer look at the attempts of Czech composers and explore each requiem from different points of view.
The principal focus of this paper is on works by Czech composers that have an undeniable quality and it is important to remember them.
