Sports politics in authoritarian regimes: the synergies of sport, ideology and personality cult in Turkmenistan

Abstrakt

Authoritarian regimes often consider sport as one of the main tools their own propaganda and promotion. In addition to it, Turkmenistan uses the sport also for increasing of personality cult of the Turkmen president.
