Abstract

Cavum septi pellucidi, cavum vergae and cavum veli interpositi are anterior midline intracranial findings which are typically incidental and are usually developmentally obliterated during postnatal life. Symptomatic and abnormally expanded cavities that do not have free communication with the lateral ventricles are called cysts.

This review focuses on the embryology, anatomy, epidemiology, clinical symptomatology, radiological findings and treatment of these rare conditions.
