Abstract

The frescoes in the Waldstein Palace in Prague were originally painted in part by the Florentine artist Luigi Baccio del Bianco, but most of the surviving works were later created by his compatriot Domenico Pugliani. Their style is marked by the characteristic features of Florentine painting of the first third of the 17th century.

Pugliani painted the chapel, the main hall, the Ovid (Mythological) Corridor, as well as the Astronomical Corridor and the Audience Chamber. In the end, he probably also worked in the SallaTerrena and the adjacent Retiro room.
