Abstract

In this chapter, we present two approaches that can be used to study the future in political science: scenarios and game theory. While scenarios stress the openness of the future and the creation of diverse and often less probably futures, game theory reduces the complexity of political phenomena by purposefully reducing them.

This way, it arrives at clearer predictions deductively derived from simply internally coherent set of assumptions.
