Abstract

In the years 1331-1333, King John of Luxembourg tried (unsuccessfully) to create his own estate in northern Italy. The study compares reports of these events in the autobiography of Charles IV. and in the anonymous chronicle of the city of Parma, in which the Luxembourgs, John and his son Charles had their headquarters.
