Abstract

Bernardo Strozzi called Cappuccino (ie Capuchin) or Prete Genovese (ie Genoa priest) brought from his native Genoa to Venice a dynamic style of Caravaggio style and inspiration, pasty painterly brushwork and vibrant contrasting colors. He devoted himself to sacral and historical paintings, allegories, genre scenes, still lifes and master portraits.

He became an important example in the formation of Baroque painting and Baroque collecting in Central Europe. The lecture is realized for the cultural public within the third role of the university in the original author's cycle Artist and Man.
