Abstract

Claude Monet, together with August Renoir, developed a stain painting to depict the landscape and everyday life as it may appear in light events. His painting Impression inadvertently gave a name to a new direction of painting.

Instructed by the practices of Boudin, Turner and Manet, he and his painter friends developed a new way of capturing fleeting events and combining the time of painting with changing light. In his late work, he gave the colorful stroke the power of a new means of expression that inspired the future.

The lecture is realized for the cultural public within the third role of the university in the original author's cycle Artist and Man.
