Abstract
The text is an obituary and recollection of the late Václav Huňáček, associate professor at the Institute of Slavonic and East European Studies of Charles University - the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, a splendid educator and a real polymath, whose wide-ranging scope of scientific activities included philology, methodology of tourist guide activity, cultural and religious studies etc. Apart from his scientific activity, it also tries to point out his outstanding human qualities, well-remembered by anyone who was lucky enough to know him.
