Abstract
The article analyzes a Czech Supreme Court decision file No. 4 Tdo 1402/2015 dated April 12, 2015, which deals with compensation for the death of a family member. The compensation awards suggested by this decision are criticized as inadequate and a new compensation framework is suggested.
