Abstract

This lecture was given at the Encuentro de Hispanistas, a traditional meeting of hispanists, which was held on 19 and 20 September 2019 at the Faculty of Arts, University of South Bohemia. During the lecture I presented an experiment conducted at the Institute of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University.

At the beginning of the speech, I discussed several general remarks on regional language varieties of Spanish and their impact on the quality of simultaneous interpreting. Then, I described the experiment, which addressed the connection between Spanish regional varieties and simultaneous interpreting.

I described the results of the experiment as well. Also, the lecture included a list of online resources that can be used by those students of Spanish who desire to enhance their knowledge of regional varieties of Spanish.
