Neomedievalism and International Recognition: Explaining the Level of Recognition Via Networking

Abstract

The chapter applies theory of neomedievalism on the process of international recognition of entities. It states that the nature of the geopolitical environment of the patron state affects the level of recognition for the entity.

It then applies this hypothesis on cases of Abkhazia and Kosovo.
