Abstract

The article is commemorating and evaluating long term my professional cooperation and collegial co-experience with Miloš Havelka. It started as late as in the 60's of last century and on the soil of Academy of Sciences, when new ideas about social order were emerging, and in particular about social role of science.

In domestic debates, and on the brink of political and academic spheres, the concept of scientific and technological revolution was formulated which found certain resonance in the western countries. After joint support of a cognitive survival of this study area (studies of science and technology, modernity concepts) in times of "normalization" its analytical advantages were revived and presented in joint publications and used in the discussions about currently running social changes in the Middle European countries after the fall of centralistic regulatory regime.

Since the 90's of the last century our common professional co-existence continued on the soil of Charles University and was framed by the efforts to establish here the Faculty of humanities. Our common interest has been focused on the cognitive problems of social sciences, in particular the way, how to present and to teach social sciences on the platform of the faculty of humanities.
