Abstract
A 23-year-old pregnant woman (in vitro fertilization) was referred to an early foetal echocardiogram for an enlarged right atrium (RA) and tricuspid valve regurgitation (TR). These findings were confirmed at 16 weeks of gestation with otherwise normal cardiac anatomy.
Colour flow mapping used during foetal echocardiogram at 21st week of gestation revealed intra-hepatic arteriovenous malformation (AVM)-a communication between abdominal aorta (AO) and a cystic enlargement of the umbilical vein (UV) proximal to the ductus venosus (DV) (Panels A and B, Supplementary data online, Videos S1A and S1B). Apart from RA enlargement, there was no other sign of foetoplacental circulatory impairment.
