Diachronic Analysis of compound times in Portuguese: tinha feito, terei feito e teria feito

Abstrakt

The paper focuses on the diachronic analysis of the compound tenses tinha feito, terei feito and teria feito in the Portuguese language. The principal objective of this study is to analyze the modo-temporal functions of these compound tenses in Old Portuguese, to compare its frequency and its use in the evolution of the Portuguese language.

The research is based on the linguistic corpus www.corpusdoportugues.org.
