A series about Czech contemporary composers who deal with vocal music for solo voice and organ. The composer, conductor, teacher, choirmaster and founder of the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno Petr Fiala (* 1943) is one of the most prominent figures in Czech cultural life.
An important part of his work consists of sacred compositions, from simple songs for children and schola, through more demanding sacred songs for professional singers, to more extensive vocal-instrumental compositions (cantatas, oratorios). The article is supplemented by an interview with the composer.
