Abstract

The lecture presents the problem of consciousness and conscious experience in the philosophy of mind and three main isms - physicalism, dualism, idealism. During the lecture we focuse on the seminar reading of texts in the above mention problematic, mainly the antiphyscalist arguments (Jackson, Chalmers).

The aim of the lecture is presenting the semiotic understanding of consciousness (or its parts) and describing its advantages and disadvantages in compere to traditional philosophical approaches.
