Reading Literacy of Hearing-Impaired pupils

Abstract

The paper briefly describes the summary and presentation of reading comprehension of pupils with hearing impairment - actual situation, specifics of reading comprehension acquisition of hearing impaired persons. The topic is focused primarily to deaf pupils who prefer Czech sign language in communication (in the Czech environment).

These pupils are currently supported to learn Czech as a foreign/second language. In context with the topic the project is presented.

The aim of the project is to discover if pupils at lower-secondary schools for hearing-impaired can read with comprehension at the A2 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
