Abstract
The original clinical research conducted at the Charles University had tremendous impact on cardiology practice not only in the Czech Republic, but worldwide. The role of Czech interventional cardiologists was recognized also by the World Health Organization by awarding them the annual prize for improving community health in 2014.
The future of cardiovascular research at the Charles University seems to be bright as in 2019 the University introduced a new PhD program 'Cardiovascular Science' and first 12 young researchers have been enrolled in this program.
