The aim of this presentation is to describe the perceptions of the Velvet Revolution held by the former Czechoslovak political prisoners from the 1950s associated in their biggest organization called the Confederation of the Political Prisoners of Czechoslovakia (in Czech Konfederace politických vězňů - KPV). I will discuss the expectations of the KPV in dealing with communism and how they were successful in promoting it (only partly).
This lead to a very critical view of the Velvet revolution and members of dissent (especially Václav Havel) who were considered responsible for it.
