Abstract
The situation of COVID-19 unveils otherwise long-lasting ignored aspects of the self-determined, round-the-clock personal assistance from the user's point of view in the post-communist countries of former Czechoslovakia. A short speech will enable me to present, at least, the most serious ones.
One of them is the increased risk of infection not because of disability itself, but because of exposure to high number of constantly changing personal assistants in the user's flat, however, on the other hand, also the fear of losing these people due to possible infection on both sides and zero support of any reliable institutions.
