Abstract

Renal cell carcinoma is a metastatic disease in up to 21% of patients at the time of diagnosis. Modern target therapy and immunotherapy a have significantly improved the prognosis of patients with metastatic disease.

We present a case report of a patient with metastatic renal cell carcinoma, multiple lung and pleural metastases. There was complete radiological regression of lung metastases of seven months duration after sunitinib treatment.

Only microscopic bearings of clear cell renal carcinoma were found in the pathological specimen after nephrectomy.
