The chapter presents theoretic base of the motivation and describes research realized on our population in the area of achievement needs. It contains detailed description of the results of a research realized at the second level (age 11-16) of elementary schools in 2008.
The research approved that the pupils have both achievement needs (need of successful achievement and need of avoid failure) developed. The pupils? self-assessment of the intensity of both needs is independent, teachers mix these two motivation needs together.
