Abstract

This paper describes and evaluates the current and potential uses of blockchain technology in intellectual property ("IP") law. After an introduction of the paper in Section 1, Section 2 explains what blockchain technology is and what place it has in the world of law.

Section 3 defines intellectual property rights. Section 4 discusses existing and potential uses of blockchain technology in relation to intellectual property rights and evaluates their potential advantages and disadvantages.

Section 5 summarizes this gained knowledge.
