Abstract
The aim of this study was to review and summarize current research on mands acquisition for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the most effective teaching procedures. Communication skill deficits are a common issue for individuals diagnosed with ASD.
The mand, derived from the word "demand" and often used in reference to making a request, is often the first targeted verbal skill in communication and is considered essential for the further development of verbal behavior.
