Parts of each chapter of the edited monograph deal with the existing conditions for (rural) schooling and the determinants operating in individual European countries. This chapter pursues the objective of comparing the conditions in the individual countries.
On the general level, the goal is to classify the factors that influence elementary education. In addition, on the empirical level, several key factors will be analysed in great detail, using the example of the various European countries, and will aim to classify the countries into several typological groups.
A differentiation between the conditions for the number and spatial organisation of schools will be presented, including cartographically.
