Abstract

A multidisciplinary team of authors from the ranks of neurosurgeons, neurologists, radiologists, intensivists and anesthesiologists in the 2nd edition of the publication seeks to provide a comprehensive view of neuroanesthesia and neurointensive care. The selected chapters from the anatomy and physiology of the CNS are followed by a surgical part, dealing with individual types of surgical procedures.

The authors devote a separate chapter to the interaction of drugs and the CNS. The next chapters describe the possibilities of clinical and instrumental examination and monitoring of the nervous system.

A separate chapter deals with neuroradiology, including the interventional one. The chapters devoted to anesthesia in neurosurgical procedures deal with preoperative preparation, individual types of procedures with anesthesiological specifics and the most common complications or deviations that an anesthesiologist may encounter during the operation.

The updated edition includes a new chapter on pediatric neuroanesthesia. prognosis and neurorehabilitation. At the end of the book, the reader will find an overview of potential early and late complications related to operations on the brain and spinal cord.
