Abstract
My presentation "Ch'ilgǒjiak 七去之惡 in the Koryǒ period: extent of application in the society" showed how the system of Ch'ilgǒjiak originated in China was used in the Koryǒ period (918-1392) in Korea. I examined each of the seven reasons for divorcing wife, presented cases recorded especially in chronicles and to what extant they were applied or nor to the society.
I also mentioned how the system changed after the fall of mainly Buddhist Koryǒ society and the rise of mainly Confucian Chosǒn society (1392-1897).
