Abstract

The article deals with the main features of cultural policy in Soviet Ukraine after the XX. Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1956.

The study analyses the official literary concept of socialist realism, special emphasis is placed on the principle of internationalism, which is analysed in a broader political context. The study deals with the issue of gradual formation of an alternative discourse of Soviet culture, which was formed in Soviet Ukraine by the works of the younger generation of the so - called Sixtiers.

The interconnectedness of these two discourses under the special conditions of Khrushchev's "thaw" created a special phenomenon of hybrid culture of national communism. The article defines the main stages of the formation of an alternative discourse of Soviet culture in Ukraine in the period of the Thaw and the gradual development of the Sixtiers from Soviet class identity to the national one, which took the form of anti-Soviet and even anti-colonial opposition.
