Stylictics and didactics: New challenges for L1 teaching

Abstract

In this chapter, we focus on the issue of stylistics and its didactic applications in L1 teaching (using Czech as an example). The chapter presents a scrutiny of the inputs, processes and outputs of L1 education in Czech upper-secondary school, i.e. the curriculum (the inputs), textbooks (the processes) and the requirements of the standardized examinations (the outputs).

The basic viewpoint for the study is the notion of the static and dynamic approach to the text.
