Abstract

Terrorism is a serious and still highly topical issue, which in the Czech Republic has long been addressed by Professor Jiří Jelínek from the point of view of criminal law and criminology. In this context, it is necessary to mention at least the publication "Terrorism - Basic Issues of Criminal Law and Criminology" from 2017, which comprehensively discusses this difficult-to-grasp phenomenon.

The following brief contribution aims to build not only on the above book publication, but also on other articles of the jubilee, in which he deals with the issues of terrorist crimes and anti-terrorism legislation with erudition and aptness. After a short excursion on the topicality and current definitional variability of terrorism, the text focuses primarily on changes in criminal law legislation made with effect from 1 February 2019 by Act No. 287/2018 Coll.

Among other things, the issues of cyber terrorist attacks or the punishment of foreign terrorist fighters are discussed.
