Abstract
The importance of education is usually accepted without any doubts. However, education is often understood as merely gaining qualifications, not as a path leading to self-realization and self-fulfilment.
This is because it lacks wider horizons and an openness to individual creativity. The meaning of life may vanish in a society fuelled by meaningless processes.
In my article, I determine the possible causes of the current status quo, and I also strive to explore the possible ways of achieving a fulfilled life when standing face-to-face with global change. Education's primary task lies in this effort.
