Conventions of exchange description in school textbooks for learning Polish, Czech and Slovak language

Abstract

The chapter examines the didactic function, potential and method of recording the sound form of segments of various levels in Polish, Czech and Slovak textbooks of selected publishers. It focuses mainly on the consistency of transcription and states a considerable degree of contamination of the recording of the sound form by spelling, in practically all examined textbooks for all three languages.
