Abstract
The author presents a case report of a patient with severe uncontrolled steroid-dependent allergic asthma bronchiale despite maximal treatment according to valid GINA guidelines. Following the introduction of omalizumab therapy and other gradual treatment adjustments, ultimately not only improved asthma control but also complete systemic steroid withdrawal.
