Disinfection composition containing quaternary ammonium salts

Publication

Abstract

New disinfectant compositions that are applicable to a range of hospital bacterial and fungal infections while limiting the emergence of resistance to disinfectants are the subject of a technical solution. To this end, a disinfecting composition containing quaternary ammonium salts has been developed, the essence of which is that it contains 1-hexadecylpyridinium bromide in combination with at least one quaternary ammonium salt selected from a group including 1-hexadecylpyridinium, 1-hexadecyl-3-(Z)-(hydroxyiminomethyl-pynium and 4-hexadecyl-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)morpholine-4-4-sodium.

The mass ratio between the various ammonium salts contained in the disinfection composition according to the technical solution is in the range 1:4 to 4:1, with an advantage of 1:2 to 2:1. In addition, according to the next implementation of the technical solution, the disinfection composition includes at least one excipient selected from the group containing perfumes, gel-forming agents, adhesive agents, dyes, or solvents.

According to a further technical solution, the disinfection composition is in the form of a solution, foam or gel.
