A quaternary ammonium salt and a disinfectant composition comprising it

Publication

Abstract

The new quartile ammonium salt, developed as a disinfectant agent applicable to a wide range of hospital bacterial and fungal infection agents, while limiting the emergence of resistance to disinfectants, is the subject of the technical solution. A new compound of the quaternary ammonium sole type was therefore developed for this purpose, namely 1-alkyl-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)imidazolium halide.

Quaternary ammonium salts according to the technical solution are effective disinfecting agents against a variety of micro-organisms and viruses, namely Gram-negative, Gram-positive bacteria coated with viruses or pathogenic fungi, selected from a group including Clostridium dificille, Candida parapsilosis sensu stricto, Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, Aubasireodium melanogenum, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergiluversicolor, Staphylococcus aureus, Stalococcus resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus spp., with the advantage of Vankomycin resistant Enterococcus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp. with the advantage of Klebsiella Ext. Spectrum B-lactamase negative, Klebsiella Ext.

Spectrum B-lactamase positive, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with the advantage of Pseudomonas aeruginosa multidrug resistant, Yersinia bercovieri, Acinetobacter baumannii, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia or coated viruses, with the advantage of varicella-zoster vir.
