Abstract

Axillary ultrasound is an integral part of preoperative clinical assessment in all breast cancer patients. Despite its outstanding sensitivity and specificity, it is still necessary to perform surgical staging consisting of sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy in patients with no ultrasonographically suspicious lymph nodes (LN) (cN0).
