Visual Memory and Attention and Their Impact on the Development of Communicative Abilities in Pupils with Impaired Hearing

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a research done in the Czech Republic that was analysing the link between the performance in the area of visual memory and attention in students with severe hearing impairment on the one side and the development of their communicative competences and learning ability on the other side. The research sample was made up by students of younger school age attending an elementary school for pupils with hearing impairment (in the Czech Republic classes 1 - 9).

As research instruments were used standardised tests and a questionnaire. The research brought results comparable to other researches done in other countries.
