The vaporization plane depth measuring method

Publication

Abstract

A method for measuring the depth of the vaporization plane. A hole with a diameter of up to 30 mm, preferably up to 10 mm, is drilled into the porous material, then a probe with at least part of its outer surface covered in glue and powder dye is inserted into the hole.

The probe is left in the hole for at least 3 minutes, then it is pulled out of the hole and the length of the part of the probe that has changed color or the length of the part of the probe embedded in the material that has not changed color is measured, thus, determining the position of the vaporization plane in the porous material.
