Abstract
Head injuries, together with spinal injuries, account for over a quarter of all injuries in children and make up three quarters of pediatric patients hospitalized for the injury. Fortunately, most childhood head injuries cause only minor injuries, requiring only examination or short-term hospitalization with observation.
Only a small part consists of severe craniocerebral injuries (CCP), which, on the other hand, are the main cause of death of children over 1 year and in third place in the cause of death of children under 1 year of age. Boys have twice as high injuries and three to four times higher mortality.
